The CXC Team Vertical Limit arrived in Bozeman, MT, on Wednesday.  We will have 2 races this weekend: a skate sprint at Lindley Park, and a 10/15K classic at Bohart Ranch.

Bohart Ranch

I love Bozeman because it is not too high, but still in the mountains and georgous.  Unfortunately, I had the sniffles this morning so I stayed inside while everyone else went out to preview the sprint course and test skis.  Hopefully, I will still be able to race tomorrow.  The sprint course sounds like fun.

Yesterday we skied the classic course at Bohart Ranch.  This course will be extremely challenging and technical with lots of humungus climbs and white knuckle downhills with screaming corners.  Here are some photos of Bohart Ranch that I grabbed from Kuzzy’s site.

I did not race today.  Thank you to Kuzzy (1st) and Chris Cook (2nd) for making the race very exciting!

Here is a video of the Women’s 10K skate race on Friday.  If you don’t want to watch the whole thing, I am bib #160 and I come through at 2:23.

Here is the 15K Men’s race.  Bryan is bib #25 and comes through at 3:02 and 4:21 in the back of a small pack.

The Yellowstone Ski Festival classic sprint happened this morning.  Unofficial results can be found HERE.  Everyone on the CXC Team Vertical Limit is very proud of our teammate, Garrott Kuzzy, for finishing first place today!  Read Kuzzy’s race report HERE.

The course was rock solid and had several sketchy corners throwing lots of us, including myself, off the trail and into the woods.  Good work to those athletes that were able to stay on their feet.  Today was a success in that race #1 and crash #1 are now out of the way.  I am more fired up than ever for the 10K skate race on Friday.
