For the most part, I have lived my life in Rhinelander, WI. I was born in Neenah, WI and moved up to Rhinelander at a young age. Once there, my parent’s really got into skiing and taught all of my brothers, sister, and me how to ski. I was on skis, and documented on a family video, at the ripe old age of two. From that point on, I was always fascinated by the sport of cross-country skiing, and enjoyed family ski weekends every weekend during the winter.
After a decent high school skiing career I decided to walk-on to the Northern Michigan University ski team. There I really started to develop into the skier that I am today. I would not have been where I am today without the help of, first my family, and next Sten Fjeldheim and Jenny Ryan who coached me all five years, and then some, while I was attending Northern Michigan University.
So, that brings me up to date where I will be rejoining the CXC Ski Team this season. I skied with the CXC team for the winter of 2006 and 2007 which was the team’s first year in existence. I then had to return to my studies to receive my degree. This entailed me studying in Vienna, Austria for three months during the summer of 2007 and then taking my final class at NMU in the fall of 2007. I am more than happy to be back with the team.
