The skiing in Silver Star has been awesome. We got almost 2 inches of snow last night and there is more coming tonight. Tomorrow is the sprint race and I am going to be racing for the first time this season. The course is fun and it only has a few rocks. Tomorrow should be a lot of fun and I am very excited.
We have been doing most of our training at the Sovereign Lake Trails, but yesterday I had the opportunity to check out Silver Star Mountain with my high school coach, Mary Eloranta. The chair lift was running for the first time all week and we jumped on it. After we popped out of the clouds in the valley, it was a beautiful day. Here are some pictures from our adventure. Mike Mandli, Anne Rindal, Kathy Clavette (Lapham Ladies) are also here. Bryan and I went over to the Lapham Ladies house for dinner last night. It is wonderful to see so many familiar faces and I am very excited to have some fans at the race tomorrow.
